Summary: Summer Interns will work with Chesapeake Experience's "Chesapeake Bay Kayak Camp" summer programs, teaching children ages 6-15 about science and ecology through such activities as kayaking, species identification, crabbing, fishing, water quality monitoring, bay-related games, creation of field guides, and much more.
Interview Required: Yes
Special Requirements: Interns will be required to provide their own transportation to and from day camp locations. Locations vary from week to week. Interns slected will also be required to participate in a one-day training session prior to the beginning of camp season. This will include kayak skills and camp activity planning. Interns should expect to have a lot of fun with these summer camp programs!

Details

Summer Interns will work with Chesapeake Experience's "Chesapeake Bay Kayak Camp" summer programs. These week-long, day camp programs have participants from age 6-15 years old at sites throughout Hampton Roads. Camp activities are science and ecology based and include kayaking, species identification, crabbing, fishing, water quality monitoring, bay-related games, creation of field guides and much more. Interns will work with Chesapeake Experience staff to help provide meanigful experiences for camp participants.
