The National Science Foundation (NSF) supports summer research experiences for undergraduates (REUs) in colleges, universities, and other organizations across the country.  Each institution sets its own application procedures and eligibility standards for its REU program.  Students apply directly to the appropriate institution.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln hosts an REU site for undergraduates focused on “conducting cutting edge social and behavioral research into understanding and reducing health disparities.”  Students will learn basic approaches to social network analysis.  Potential projects include the following:

•    Risk of HIV and HCV Infection in Rural Puerto Rico
•    Preventing American Indian/Alaskan Indian Suicide

The deadline to apply is March 1, 2018.
