Graduate Life

The Jefferson Program currently has about 50 graduate students with varying backgrounds and interests. Coursework, one-on-one meetings with faculty members, working individually with other graduate students and small group projects are all a part of a graduate student's experience ... but hard work is hardly the whole story.

William & Mary policy students are busy. Busy making the most out of a once-in-a-lifetime educational and social experience. The Graduate Policy Association, the university-wide Graduate Student Association, and more than 400 interest specific clubs and organizations provide casual settings for further involvement in campus life.

Williamsburg - or the ‘Burg, as we call it - is one of those towns where you'll instantly feel at home. It's small enough to be accessible on foot or by bike, but big enough to offer a variety of restaurants, coffee shops, parks, movie theaters, music venues, a winery, and more.

While some students do commute from Richmond or Norfolk, there is affordable graduate student housing on campus in addition to hundreds of great apartments for rent in Williamsburg. We encourage you to make Williamsburg your home while in the Program and to make the most of our university called The College of William & Mary and connect with students and professors from five different graduate and professional schools.
