Achieve
Central to Achieve’s work is our ability to convene leaders from across states to come together to share their experiences and tackle common challenges.

Center for Budget Policy and Priorities
The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities is one of the nation's premier policy organizations working at the federal and state levels on fiscal policy and public programs that affect low- and moderate-income families and individuals.

Center for Education Reform
The Center for Education Reform drives the creation of better educational opportunities for all children by leading parents, policymakers and the media in boldly advocating for school choice, advancing the charter school movement, and challenging the education establishment.

Center for Policy Alternatives (CPA)
The Center for Policy Alternatives (CPA) is the nation's only nonpartisan nonprofit organization working to strengthen the capacity of state legislators to lead and achieve progressive change.

Center for the Study of the Presidency
The Center for the Study of the Presidency (CSP) is a non-partisan, non-profit organization founded in 1965. The Center is the only organization that systematically examines past successes and failures of the Presidency and relates its findings to present challenges and opportunities.

Child Development Resources
Begun in 1966 as the Williamsburg Preschool for Special Children, Child Development Resources (CDR) now serves approximately 1,000 children and their families each year.  CDR is a comprehensive resource for physicians, teachers, and parents—in fact, for anyone who has a question about an infant or toddler—throughout the Historic Triangle.

Common Cause
Common Cause was founded in 1970 by John Gardner, former Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare. Gardner envisioned a movement propelled by the focused and concerted grassroots lobbying activities of Common Cause members and reinforced with professional lobbying on Capitol Hill.

Congressional Budget Office (CBO)
CBO aims to provide the Congress with the objective, timely, nonpartisan analyses needed for economic and budget decisions and with the information and estimates required for the Congressional budget process.

Congressional Research Service (CRS)     (Student Internship Narrative)
Congress created CRS in order to have its own source of nonpartisan, objective analysis and research on all legislative issues. Indeed, the sole mission of CRS is to serve the United States Congress.

Council on Competitiveness
A nonpartisan, nongovernmental organization in Washington, D.C., the Council shapes the debate on competitiveness by bringing together business, labor, academic and government leaders to evaluate economic challenges and opportunities.

Council of State Governments (CSG)
As states take on more responsibilities, they are finding that it pays to share resources, strategies and ideas for doing all that needs to be done. One resource that states have counted on since 1933 is The Council of State Governments.

Dominion is one of the nation's largest producers of energy. Our corporate headquarters are in Richmond, Va.

James City County Planning Division
Planning and Zoning are responsible for improving the quality of life by developing and recommending growth management strategies, encouraging aesthetically pleasing development, and ensuring our community grows through sound development practices.

Office of Management and Budget (OMB)
OMB's predominant mission is to assist the President in overseeing the preparation of the federal budget and to supervise its administration in Executive Branch agencies. In helping to formulate the President's spending plans, OMB evaluates the effectiveness of agency programs, policies, and procedures, assesses competing funding demands among agencies, and sets funding priorities.

Rebuilding Together    (Student Internship Narrative)
Rebuilding Together is a national nonprofit with a network of nearly 225 affiliates across the United States.  Our mission is to preserve affordable housing by bringing volunteers and communities together to rehabilitate the homes of low-income homeowners.

The Commonwealth Institute
The Commonwealth Institute for Fiscal Analysis provides credible, independent and accessible information and analyses of state fiscal issues.

The National Center for State Courts (NCSC)      (Student Internship Narrative)
The mission of NCSC is to improve the administration of justice through leadership and service to state courts, and courts around the world. 

The Office of the Comptroller of Currency (OCC)
The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) charters, regulates, and supervises all national banks.

U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO)     (Student Internship Narrative)
The GAO is the audit, evaluation, and investigative arm of Congress. GAO exists to support the Congress in meeting its Constitutional responsibilities and to help improve the performance and ensure the accountability of the federal government for the American people.

U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is responsible for enforcing federal laws that make it illegal to discriminate against a job applicant or an employee because of the person's race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information.

Virginia Governor's Fellows Program     (Student Internship Narrative)
Offers fellows the opportunity to experience firsthand the administration of state government in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Virginia Resources Authority
Since its inception, VRA has funded more than 750 critical projects across the Commonwealth exceeding $3.1 billion of investment in Virginia's communities.
