Mr. Harris received an A. B. degree in English literature and philosophy from the College of William & Mary. He holds a J.D. degree in international and maritime law from Tulane University.

Mr. Harris is Senior Policy Advisor in Alston + Bird's Washington, DC office, where he advises clients on business development, international policy, and other issues, and specializes in assisting foreign governments with matters before the U.S. Administration and Congress.

Mr. Harris served as foreign policy advisor to former Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole.  His U.S. State Department tenure included service in Britain, Bulgaria, and Macedonia, and in Washington as special assistant in the Office of Secretary James Baker.
