Fall 2013 Newsletter

Dear Alumni of the William and Mary Psychology Department,

From the faculty and staff of the Department of Psychology, we welcome you to join us as we start another academic year.    We anticipate another rewarding year of engagement with our undergraduate and graduate students through our teaching and research.

In this electronic newsletter, we re-introduce you to Peter Vishton, a professor in our Department who has been the program director at the National Science Federation in Washington, DC for the past three years.  We are excited to have him return and be part of our academic family.

Some of you may have read media accounts of the potential of a partnership with Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS).  Although this vetting process is only in the preliminary stages, three of our faculty members, Cheryl Dickter, Catherine Forestell, and Paul Kieffaber, have received grants to collaborate with EVMS faculty on research.

Please save the date for our Homecoming week-end events planned for Friday Oct 25.  Alumnus Professor Martie Haselton (MA W&M 1997) will deliver a talk at 3:00 PM in Andrews Hall, room 101. A wine and cheese reception will immediately follow in the ISC.
