Combined Engineering Degree

William & Mary has a combined degree program with the engineering school at Columbia University. Under the 3:2 and 4:2 plans, a student spends three or four years at William & Mary and two years at the engineering school and receives a bachelor’s degree from William & Mary in their primary major as well as a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the affiliated school.

Guaranteed admission is not available for candidates who began college, whether at an affiliate school or not, in Fall 2019 or later. For students who entered W&M before Fall 2019, Columbia University offers guaranteed admission if the applicant satisfied prerequisites.

Students may choose any major for their degree from William & Mary. Students majoring in math or sciences are encouraged to apply directly to master’s degree programs in engineering after completing their degree at William & Mary.

For more information or advising, please contact Professor Eugeniy Mikhailov in the Physics Department.

Students interested in the combined program at Columbia can now sign up for the mailing list to receive communications specific to this  program.
