Professor Larry Leemis has received the 2010 Plumeri Award for Excellence.
Created by alumnus and former Board of Visitor member Joseph J. Plumeri ('66), the Plumeri Awards carry with them a cash prize of $10,000 to be spent on research opportunities and materials, professional development, or other expenses associated with research or teaching.
Professor Leemis is the third faculty member in the Department of Mathematics to have received a Plumeri Award. Professors Chi-Kwong Li and Leiba Rodman received the Plumeri awards in 2009.
