Minoring in Music

A minor in music is an excellent way to explore your love of music while you pursue another interest for your major.

To minor in music, you will take 3 of the 4 core courses required for the major: MUSC 201, Tonal Theory 1 (+Lab), MUSC 213, History of Western Music, and MUSC 241, Worlds of Music.

These courses will give you a broad background in music theory, musicology, and enthomusicology. The remaining 8 credits are up to you. You can use them to focus on a particular interest; be it performance, composition, or a specific type of music.

Note: MUSC 101 and MUSC 210 may not be applied to the Music minor.
