Summer Research Projects

Monroe Scholars may submit proposals for scholarships to fund Summer Research Projects. First-year Monroe Scholars are eligible to undertake two-week research projects that extend or build on topics they studied in their freshman classes. Upperclass Monroe Scholars are eligible for funding to conduct an intensive, seven-week research project after the sophomore or junior year. All Monroe Scholars who complete a summer research project will present their work in the fall at the Charles Center's annual Summer Research Showcase.

NOTE: We strongly recommend that both upperclass and freshman Monroe Scholars make an appointment to meet with a Swem Research Librarian.

Freshman Monroe Project deadline is noon on Wednesday, February 22, 2017.
Upperclass Monroe Projects deadline for submitting proposals for summer 2017 research is noon on November 30, 2016.
Monroe Scholar Program applications from invited candidates are due by noon on November 9, 2016.
