Japanese House

The third floor of Preston Hall is alive with Japanese pop culture. The following are lists of the J-House Events & Activities.   On some nights we cook! Have traditional (or not so traditional) Japanese meals in a warm learning environment. Who could ask for anything more?  All Events and Activities will be held in the Japanese House, Preston Hall-Randolph Complex, 3rd floor (except for Fall Festival, held in the Sadler Center) .  Please come and join us if possible. 

Weekly Events
  • Beginning Conversation Hour, Wednesdays, 5-5:30pm
  • Intermediate Conversation Hour, Tuesdays, 5-5:30pm
  • Advanced Conversation Hour, Tuesdays, 6-7pm
  • Japanese Tutor Hours, Wednesdays, 7-8pm  

J-House October Events
  • Open House:  Saturday, October 2nd, 2-4pm
    You can enjoy having Japanese foods and learning to fold origami, and more.
  • Movie Night: Thursday, October 7th, 7-9pm
    "Whisper of the Heart" 
  • Cooking Night: Saturday, October 23rd, 5-7pm  
    Let's make Sushi Rolls together.

Fall Festival 
Sadler Center - Tidewater A&B (3rd Floor)

Saturday, October 30th, 4-8pm
You can enjoy Japanese style street stall- $B!!
