Rob Leventhal awarded Research Fellowship in Germany

7152008Assistant Professor of German Studies Rob Leventhal has been awarded a Research Fellowship for the Fall of 2009 by the Herzog-August-Bibliothek in Wolfenbuettel, Germany. The library, which has one of the finest collections of manuscripts, journals, and the texts of Early Modern Europe on the continent, stood under the care of Leibniz (1677-1687) and later Lessing (1770-1781). Leventhal will be working on a book about Spinoza's impact on Early German Romantic theory, especially Friedrich Schlegel, Novalis, Schleiermacher, and Hoelderlin.
