Megan Faller, Ph.D. candidate in Austrian Cultural History at Georgetown University

After teaching English for a year, she worked in the Fine Art and Antique business in Washington and New York before going to graduate school. “To cut to the chase, I am in my third year of a Ph.D. in History at Georgetown University where I study under James Shedel. My research field is the artistic and cultural history of Vienna 1900 (with a focus on gender). I won Georgetown's Sharabi Prize for the Best Graduate Essay in History after my first year, and this manuscript has been submitted for publication. This semester I am completing my language training in Hungarian in Budapest, and working with some professors at the CEU and national library. [...] I am hoping for a Fulbright Scholarship to do field work in Vienna and must complete the formalities.”
