Veronika Jeltsch, Lecturer in German Studies, earned her Ph.D. in German from Rutgers University. She holds Masters Degrees from both Rutgers and the Albert-Ludwigs Universität in Freiburg, Germany. Her research interests include silence, speechlessness and body language, children’s and youth literature, as well as film studies and literary adaptations. Prof. Jeltsch previously taught at Hendrix College and Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, and was most recently a Visiting Assistant Professor at the College of William & Mary.. At William & Mary, she will teach German language courses, courses on German children’s and youth literature, and advanced courses on intercultural German literature, German media, and translation.
