Nathan Rabalais earned his Ph.D. in French Studies from Tulane University and holds a Doctorat en Langues et littératures from Université de Poitiers. His research focuses primarily on literatures, cultures, and language varieties of Francophone North America (including French and Creole Louisiana, Acadia, and Quebec), folklore, orality, dialect pedagogy, and community theatre. Professor Rabalais's courses include The Craft of Writing, Heroes, French and Creole Louisiana other topics courses in French and Francophone Studies. His most recent articles focus on the intersection of language and identity in Louisiana and Acadian communities of Canada, and his book of original poetry Le Hantage was published in 2018 by Les Éditions Tintamarre.
