Jennifer Dorothy Lee will defend her Ph.D. in East Asian Studies at New York University in early September 2014. Her dissertation examines experimentalism and subject formation in poetry, fiction, and visual art in the aftermath of the Chinese revolution. She received her B.A. in English and Comparative Literature from Columbia University and her M.A. in Comparative Literature from the University of London (SOAS). Her research and teaching interests include modernism and the avant-garde in a global frame, the history of literary criticism within and without China, and constructions of social space in contemporary Chinese art and cinema.
