2011 Summer Schedule

• 
• Students should meet with advisers every day.

• Weekly lunches will be conducted on Thursday (noon-2pm) in Jones 131. Students will take turn to describe their work and progress. [Two students will present each time.]

• One hour formal talks / presentations will  take place on Tuesday weekly  noon-1 p.m. in Jones Hall 131.
• Our lunch/party coordinator is Ben Holman.

• Field trips to research organizations such as NASA, Jefferson Lab, VIMS will be arranged.

• Cookout and other social events will be organized.

Summer Travel

Professor David Phillips and Patrick Steele will go to Czech Republic for a conference to presnet their results.

James Janopour-Naylor will attend Neuron Simulation Course in UCSD, June 18-22.

Week 1

May 31 (Tuesday)  9:30 a.m. Jones 131. Welcome breakfast meeting,  introduction of CSUMS students and faculty, and  assignment of office keys and desks.

June 2 (Thursday)  noon-1:30 p.m.  Jones 131. Lunch meeting at Jones 131: Student talk by Ben Holman and Georgia Pefeiffer.

June 2 (Thursday) 5:30-7:30pm. Cook-out at Jamestown Beach. (all CSUMS students/faculty)

Week 2

June  6 (Monday) 2-3pm. Jones 131. Tutorial session: LaTeX and beamer (Gexin Yu/Junping Shi)

June 7 (Tuesday) noon-1:30pm. Jones 131. Lunch Talk by Junping Shi (title: History of Logistic Equation)

June 8 (Wednesday) 2-3pm. Jones 131. Tutorial session: Matlab (Michael Lewis/Ben Holman)
