William & Mary's Marine Science Society (MSS) is a great way to meet people and get involved with marine science. Their Facebook page is a great place to see upcoming events or talk to the officers. It's also extremely useful for those looking to carpool to VIMS for classes or events.
The Sea Monster is a blog run by a collection of marine scientists and journalists including VIMS professor Emmett Duffy. This website includes interesting articles, photos, videos, book reviews, and whatever else this ocean-loving crew can come up with. Lots of interesting things to look at, we promise!
The Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) has a three-part mission to conduct interdisciplinary research in coastal ocean and estuarine science, educate students and citizens, and provide advisory service to policy makers, industry, and the public. The School of Marine Science (SMS) at VIMS is the graduate school in marine science for the College of William & Mary. Chartered in 1940, VIMS is currently among the largest marine research and education centers in the United States.
