 The MATCH Corps program began in 2004 and is the first of its kind in the nation. The Corps is a group of 135 top recent college graduates who work one-on-one with six to eight MATCH High School, Middle School, or Elementary School students each day for an entire academic year. Corps members live together in apartments nearby the Middle School and Elementary School, and in a dorm on the top floor of the High School. All three schools are open-admission Charter Public Schools in Boston, MA. This full-time service year program is designed to fully close the academic Achievement Gap between minority students and their non-minority peers, one student at a time. Each Corps member works to guarantee the academic success of MATCH students while building personal relationships. Corps members also undertake secondary projects such as serving as teaching assistants, and may also coach teams and power extracurricular programs.
We also offer an optional teacher training program called MATCH Teacher Residency. In MTR, Corps members receive additional training on the weekends with the aim of becoming unusually effective first year teachers in high-poverty schools. Graduates of MTR go on to teach at some of the most highly regarded charter schools in the country and tend to outperform other rookie teachers in the classroom.

 JOB OPPORTUNITIES FOR 2013 GRADUATES

The Advisory Board Expert Center is the central clearinghouse for all internal and external member requests for expertise within the firm. Research Associates in the Expert Center will work with the Manager of the Expert Center to answer critical member questions through a variety of avenues. Questions submitted in the past have touched on issues such as physician employment, reducing readmission rates, increasing emergency department throughput, and benchmarking turnaround time for imaging procedures and reports.

Specific responsibilities of the Research Associate include:
- Identifying key best practice research tactics

- Compiling research across membership terrain

- Analyzing and understanding member questions as they pertain to the healthcare market and firm research

- Crafting timely, polished, and helpful written member responses

- Working with Senior Leadership in the Research and Insights division to develop custom responses in specific research terrains

- Acting as a Expert Center liaison to Member Services and Research and Insights programs

- Improving existing tools and processes within the Expert Center

Research Associates will be exposed to cutting edge research and strategic member relations initiatives. As Research Associates become more experienced, they assume broader responsibilities, including management of member relationships and serving as "in-house experts" on various topics.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Excellent academic record
  • Minimum of 3 months of work or internship experience

Experience with at least two of the following:
o Conducting primary and secondary research
o Demonstrated interest in health care
o Writing in-depth reports in a professional setting
o Analyzing business issues

The Education Advisory Board is the firms higher education practice, with membership programs serving Chief Academic Officers, Chief Business Officers, Student Affairs Executives and Community College Presidents at more than 300 institutions in the United States, Canada and the U.K. Our research focuses on the universities most pressing quality and productivity issues, performing rigorous root cause analysis and conducting hundreds of interviews with thought leaders to identify effective best practices that are shared with the membership through a series of national roundtable meetings, on-site workshops, webinars and publications

Specific responsibilities of the Research Associate include:
Research Associates conduct primary and secondary research to compose analytical and strategic briefs for executives in higher education. Research projects are commissioned by individual Advisory Board members in search of best practices across a number of terrains within the higher education space. Research Associates craft customized, timely reports informed by extensive literature searches and in-depth interviews with industry experts and leading executives. Current projects include topics such as Elevating Student Engagement within Residence Life; Best Practices in Multicultural Affairs Services and Programming; Indicators for Defining University Impact on State Economic Development; and Making the Global Local: Strategies for Internationalizing a Domestic Campus.

Marketing Associates will be responsible for day-to-day interaction with our prospective members in the health care practice. They play a major role in the business development process, from identifying new opportunities to facilitating momentum towards a positive decision on membership

Key components of the position include (but are not limited to):

Target prospective members through background market research and direct contact

Maintain prospective membership pool through telephone networking and campaigns

Recruit prospective members to attend annual meetings

Assist (Associate/Senior) Director with relationship-building efforts

Schedule marketing appointments with prospective members

Effectively convey to contacts who and what the Advisory Board is

Prepare follow-up materials after marketing meetings

Participate in finalizing membership agreements and closing prospects

Monitor industry trends, region issues and institution-specific issues in order to tailor marketing efforts

Prepare background institution and market research in preparation for marketing visits

Assist in development of targeted marketing campaigns and Departmental Activities

Assist colleagues through collaboration, mentoring and coaching activities
