Professor Shushan received her PhD from Yale University in 2008. She earned an M.Phil in International Relations at Magdalen College, Oxford University as a Marshall Scholar. She holds an A.B. summa cum laude from Harvard University. A Middle East specialist, she has conducted research in Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Israel, and Turkey. She thinks anything would look better written in Arabic calligraphy.
