Background
Professor David Dessler received his B.A. in History and B.S. in Physics from The University of Oklahoma. He later earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in International Studies from John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. David has been with the College since 1984 and is currently an Associate Professor of Government. His primary interest is in international politics and theory. Professor Dessler has written many articles to journals such as Review of International Studies, International Studies Quarterly, International Organization, and SAIS Review. He has also won the Thomas Jefferson Teaching Award from the College of William and Mary.
