Background
Joshua is a 6th year Ph.D. candidate writing, for his dissertation, a cultural history of the Stamp Act crisis. He received an undergraduate degree in anthropology from the University of Rhode Island. Joshua worked for several years as an archaeologist and architectural preservationist before entering the Department of History in 2000. His research interests include Colonial and Revolutionary America, Colonial Latin America, architectural history, archaeology, and material culture.
Research and social interests meet every year on March 18th when Joshua and his wife host a party celebrating the anniversary of the repeal of the Stamp Act. ("A toast to the Lords of the Admiralty! Huzzah!")
