BioRaised in Richmond, Virginia, Matt earned his B.A. in History from
William & Mary in 2010. He spent the following year substituting for
Williamsburg-James City County public schools and giving school group tours at
Jamestown Settlement. In the summer of 2011 he was a costumed interpreter
at the Settlement's Powhatan Indian Village. Fields of interest include
European perceptions of early America, public history, and American Indian
political and environmental history. In his spare time Matt enjoys
grilling, fishing, Monopoly, and ultimate frisbee.
