Current Research : Gender and family in early America


Caylin graduated summa cum laude from Bates College in 2012, with a B.A. in history and a minor in French. While at Bates, Caylin wrote a senior honors thesis on gender in seventeenth-century Virginia.  She is interested in the social history of the early North American colonies, particularly gender and family dynamics. Caylin is currently in her first year of the M.A./Ph.D. program, and is an apprentice for the Omohundro Institute of Early American History & Culture. Caylin is originally from Norwalk, Connecticut, and she enjoys playing ultimate frisbee and reading in her free time.
