Background

Kathrin Levitan received her Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 2006. She specializes in modern British and European history, with an emphasis on nineteenth-century Britain and the British empire. She teaches courses on early modern and modern Britain, British social and urban history, and European empire.


Research Interests

Her current research is on the cultural history of the nineteenth-century British census.
