Bio

Joshua Hubbard received his PhD in history and women’s studies from the University of Michigan in 2017. He specializes in the history of China and Taiwan, with a focus on the decades surrounding the Second World War. His research interests include gender, sexuality, and the body, international relations, and the politics of reproductive health. He is currently working on a book project that examines the mutual effects between everyday practices of sexuality, childrearing, and consumption in East Asia and the development of global health from the 1920s to the 1960s.
