Career Services

William and Mary offers graduate students a full range of services and programs designed to assist in career planning and job placement, either within or outside of academia. Career Counseling, mock interviews and panels that highlight careers are just some of the services available to graduate students.

Child Care

Graduate students with children may take advantage of the Williamsburg Campus Child Care's beautiful and well-run, not-for-profit facility. Located on campus, just behind the William & Mary bookstore, the child care center services the needs of approximately 75 children, ranging in age from six weeks old to five years old. The WCCC fills up, so you may need to put your child's name on the waiting list.

Disability Services

The mission of Disability Services at the College of William and Mary is to create a barrier-free environment for matriculated students with disabilities by considering reasonable accommodation upon request on an individual and flexible basis. Program goals include fostering student independence, encouraging self-determination, emphasizing accommodation over limitation, and creating a comprehensively accessible environment to ensure that individuals are viewed on the basis of ability not disability.

Incoming students can find off-campus housing by checking the Student Information Network's on-line housing center at www.sin.wm.edu.

Information Technology

The Technology Support Center (TSC) supports computing and information technology for the entire William & Mary community - students, faculty, and administration. The Technology Support Center manages and supports approximately 300 networked computers in public access labs around campus, all of which connect to the Internet and to the library's on-line services. Students working in the labs also have access to a variety of licensed software for statistical analysis, word processing, spreadsheet or financial analysis, computer language research, and email. Most labs remain open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Teacher Training

The faculty at William & Mary is committed to preparing graduate students for excellence as scholars and as teachers. Graduate students preparing for careers as teachers are given training in pedagogical techniques by their home departments. Graduate students are also invited to attend the faculty workshops sponsored by the University Teaching Project.

The William and Mary Recreation Center offers a gym, fitness room, weight rooms, racquetball, squash, tennis, basketball, volleyball and badminton courts, an 8-lane pool, and a sauna for the use of students, faculty and staff.
