Graduate Program
Research Facilities
The presence of several national research centers and institutes on and near the William & Mary campus deeply enriches the graduate student experience and extends our intellectual community. For example, some graduate students studying nuclear or accelerator physics conduct their research at nearby Jefferson Lab (formerly known as CEBAF), the premier laboratory in the world for the study of nuclear physics. Some science students take a different tack, working instead with the Atmospheric Sciences Group at NASA-Langley Research Center to understand the structure and dynamics of the earth's atmosphere. While some graduate students measure the environmental effects of oil fires in Kuwait, others edit manuscripts submitted for publication to the Omohundro Institute of Early American History and Culture. Still others work with the Center for Archaeological Research, excavating what remains of the original Jamestown settlement.
The William & Mary campus is home to a number of research centers:
- Center for Conservation Biology
