Students from VIMS and from other universities who have had an abstract accepted into W&M's Graduate Research Symposium and will attend as a Visiting Student are welcome to submit papers for these awards.

Award for Excellence in Scholarship in the Humanities and Social Sciences

Disciplines typically consist of, but are not limited to: American studies, anthropology, art history, history, literature, and public policy.

Award for Excellence in Scholarship in the Natural and Computational Sciences

Disciplines typically consist of, but are not limited to: applied science, biology, chemistry, computational operations research, computer science, psychological sciences, and physics.
