Graduate Admissions
The Office of Graduate Studies and Research oversees and facilitates applications to the William and Mary graduate programs in Arts & Sciences. Requirements and deadlines vary, and students should consult Admissions Contacts and Requirements and Deadlines. A complete listing of our degree programs is available, as well as a current catalog.
International Students
A Supplemental International Form is required before an I-20 can be issued. The form can be found at Supplemental International Form (PDF).
The TOEFL is required for all students for whom English is not a first language. More information about the TOEFL.
Once admitted, all students who are required to submit TOEFL scores are also required to take a brief diagnostic test, called the SPEAK test, to assess their oral communication skills. Please note that the SPEAK test can only be taken on campus, and will be administered at the beginning of your first semester at William and Mary. Information on the SPEAK test can be found at SPEAK Frequently Asked Questions (PDF).
