FAQ 2

What should I choose as a major if I want to go to law school?

There is no one major that best prepares you for law school.

Law schools typically are not concerned with your major; instead they want candidates who have taken challenging courses and have done well in them.  In general, law school applicants tend to come more heavily from the social sciences than from the biological or natural sciences.  But, that does not mean that law schools prefer applicants who have majored in government, history or sociology.  In fact, majoring in an less typical discipline can be helpful in distinguishing yourself from other applicants.  That is not to say you should major in neuroscience if it does not interest you.  You should pick a major you like and do your best in those courses.
