Research Interests
Arab foreign policy, regime survival strategies in non-democratic states, foreign aid, impact of imposing foreign institutions abroad, role of women in Middle East politics, Israel in regional context
Background
Professor Shushan (formerly Shulman) received her PhD from Yale University in 2008. She earned an M.Phil in International Relations at Magdalen College, Oxford University as a Marshall Scholar. She holds an A.B. summa cum laude from Harvard University. A Middle East specialist, she has conducted research in Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Syria, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates.
