Not a Major?

The intellectual tools and perspectives taught in FMST can add insight into any field of study.  (See what we have to say in introduccing our minor if you want more elaborate justifications for this claim).

We recommend starting with our introductory course, FMST 250, or one of the courses that meets our media history requirement (FMST 310) or global media (FMST 330).  These courses provide a grounding in important, foundational ideas in Film and Media Studies that are both portable to other fields (like, say, considering how media are used in politics) and helpful in other FMST courses.
