Four faculty and the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Studies review students' petitions to exceptions to undergraduate degree requirements. The Committee on Degrees reviews requests for the forms listed below. The committee certifies and forwards to the Board of Visitors the names of students who have completed the requirements for undergraduate degrees. It meets six times per term.
Request to waive a specific catalog policy. Petition approval is generally given only in extraordinary circumstances. (DocuSign)
For changing a standard letter grade to P/F. Petition for an exception to the current pass/fail policy. Note these requests are rarely approved, the circumstances must be extraordinary to warrant approval. (DocuSign)
Request that the grading basis for a course be changed to standard letter grade or an audit grade. (DocuSign)
Request a course substitution for a COLL or proficiency requirement. (DocuSign)
Revoke college credits earned in high school or a previous college. (DocuSign)
