Research & Teaching

Dorothy's research interests include communicating science to diverse stakeholders, parks and public space, urban cycling, and urban sustainability. Her work is deeply interdisciplinary, integrating both quantitative and qualitative methods and theory from human-environment geography, urban planning, sustainability science, environmental justice, and urban ecology.

Dorothy has served as an instructor and teaching assistant for a variety of courses in the natural and social sciences, including Society & Sustainability, Global Environmental Change, Earth Science, Geography of World Crises, and Parks & Open Spaces. Her course offerings at William & Mary will draw from these and other related topics while fostering student research and science writing at The College.
