Summer Language Programs

Summer Programs are a great way to achieve rapidly proficiency in a language. Below is a list of summer programs offering Latin and/or Greek.

Students interested in continuing on to graduate study in Classics will need to have proficiency in German and French or Italian in addition to that of Greek and Latin. A summer program in these modern languages will prepare you well for this graduate school requirement.

• University of Virginia Summer Latin Institute: offers intensive Latin
• University of Texas at Austin Department of Classics Summer Program: offers both intensive Latin and Greek.
• University of Toronto, Center for Medieval Studies: offers Latin.
• Yale University Summer Session. Offers Ancient Greek (beginning level) and Latin (beginning, intermediate level and medieval Latin)
