Paga awarded Prestigious Mellon Fellowship

Professor Paga in Samothrace

Professor Jess Paga has recently been appointed a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow in Modeling Interdisciplinary Inquiry at Washington University in St. Louis.  It is a 2 year research fellowship, now in its 13th year, designed to encourage and support interdisciplinary work between the social sciences and humanities.  While there, Professor Paga will be affiliated with the Interdisciplinary Project in the Humanities and the Classics Department.  She will be teaching a small but broad range of courses, including a freshman seminar and a graduate seminar in Theory & Methods.  The goal of the fellowship is to enhance the interdisciplinary work that Professor Paga has already started with her dissertation by integrating more nuanced social science methodologies with her historical and archaeological research.  While at WashU, Professor Paga plans to complete the transformation of her dissertation into a book manuscript and start work on her next project.  Professor Paga is one of two fellows appointed for 2013-2015, out of an international applicant pool of over 350 people.
