Bioorganic Chemistry, Organic Synthesis, Biotechnology, and Molecular Biology

Background

Research focuses on the interface of chemistry and biology, developing novel chemical tools to address biological questions. Ultimately, we hope to use these tools as new therapeutic agents or as probes to better understand biological systems. Specifically are examining the effects of microwave irradiation within a biological context, developing unique therapeutics based on RNA targets, and manipulating the genetic code to incorporate unnatural amino acids in vivo.
