Community Engaged Learning Across the Curriculum

Sharpe and the Community Studies programs encourage faculty across the curriculum to integrate teaching and research activity with community engagement.  Some offer courses within our programs, such as freshman seminars in the Sharpe program or advanced courses in the Community Studies minor.  Others have developed existing courses in their departments to integrate community engagement, public and outreach scholarship, and community partners into the content and pedagogy of their classes.  Community engaged classes across the curiculum support enrollment for upper level students who are interested in developing academic skills for conducting community-based research.
