Online GIS Services

The CGA at W&M can house and design interactive online maps, mashups, and other web-based GIS services. As new services are completed they will be added to the list on the left. Online GIS infrastructure is available to all faculty, students, and staff.   The CGA utilizes ArcGIS Server, SQL Server, SDE, MapServer, and various open source applications and API’s to operate these mapping services. 

W&M Mashup

View Williamsburg and W&M in Google Road Maps, Google Satellite, Google Hybrid, Google Physical, Google Maps, Google Street View, Open Street Map with WM data added,  Virtual Street Map, Virtual Earth Satellite, and Virtual Earth Hybrid Map in one cool Mash-up!  Additional layers include all campus infrastructure including RMAs and RPAs for environmental planning.  You can also view the latest imagery of the campus.  Would you like a layer added?  Just ask.

W&M Online Map

This is the interactive campus map. Use this map to search for a particular building or view information for the surrounding area. This maps runs on ArcGIS server 9.3.1 and only requires a web browser to operate. This map provides 6 inch imagery for the entire campus area. The map is GPS / Web app / Mobile app enabled. It can be loaded directly into ArcGIS.  Make you own map with this application.  You can use this map to search for buildings on campus.

GARDEN

The CGA at William and Mary is pleased to announce that it will be node 1 on the VA GARDEN network.  The goal of GARDEN is to provide researchers and educators with affordable access to state GIS data while providing efficiencies and cost-savings to the state and higher education institutions.  For a full list of data available to the W&M community please visit the VGIN website to find your data and then and then contact the CGA to obtain your data . William and Mary faculty and staff no longer have to purchase these data from VGIN, they are available through GARDEN.  William and Mary students requesting non-public GARDEN data should have their faculty advisor make the request.
