Biology Department

The undergraduate Biology major is among the most popular at William and Mary. The department also offers a graduate program leading to the master’s degree. Representing a wide diversity of research and teaching interests among faculty and research associates, our goal is to encourage and facilitate independent thinking and creative investigation in both the laboratory and classroom.

The Biology Department occupies portions of the Integrated Science Center and Millington Hall on the main campus, along with a building for ecological and population studies on the edge of campus. Also available for research and coursework are the College Woods, Lake Matoaka, and a house on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

In praise of post-docs

William & Mary's interdisciplinary environmental program is expanding, thanks to a new post-doctoral fellowship program.
