Lowery holds a MFA in sculpture from Wayne State University of Detroit, Michigan and a BFA in sculpture from Northern Arizona University of Flagstaff, Arizona. He started teaching 3D Foundations (now 3D Design) at William & Mary in 2009 and teaches sculpture courses on occasion.
