Background

Derek graduated from the University of Virginia in 2006 with BAs in anthropology and archaeology.  He started at William and Mary in 2006 and completed his MA thesis on the trade routes of 18th century St. Eustatius.  His PhD project continues to focus on the historical archaeology of the Caribbean by exploring the diasporic Jewish communities on Barbados and St. Eustatius.
