Sarah Byrd graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a BA in anthropology and history.  She has done fieldwork at four sites, including a Woodland period settlement in northwest Ohio, a Civil War prison, a Fort Ancient village, and a nineteenth century house site.   Her research interests include looking at the influences of Europeans at Native American sites and how the interaction between the two affected the material culture.  She is also interested in the importance of public archaeology and efforts to make archaeology more accessible to the public.
