Minor in American Studies

A minor in American Studies requires a minimum of 20 credit hours, 13 credit hours of which need to be at the 300 level or above. Students will take AMST 201, 202, 203, or 204 (4 credits), AMST 370 (4 credits; this course fulfills the computing requirement and half of the writing requirement), and one topics course (AMST 470, which fills the other half o f the writing requirement). They will also take at least 3 credit hours each from approved courses in requirements b, c, and d as described in the Major Requirements.

To declare your minor, you must complete this worksheet (pdf) as well as the Registrar's Declaration of Academic Minor form (pdf).  Have the forms signed by the Director of Undergraduate Studies and submit them to the Registrar's office.
