Helen Wang is a PhD candidate working on Asian American Studies with an emphasis on Asian American literature. Her Master's thesis examines Asian American hip hop and its navigations with youth culture, Black hip hop and Asian American identity. Currently, she is working on her dissertation. She taught a course in the fall of 2002 at the University of Hong Kong's American Studies Programme on American youth culture. This past spring, she taught a course entitled: "American Accent: Articulations of Asian America." Currently, Helen is happily fumbling her way through New York city, just being, doing and seeing.
