On April 13, 2007, Lisa Heuvel (M.A. 2005), will present a workshop with Mattaponi Indian tribal historian Samuel McGowan at the 2007 National Council on History Education. Heuvel and McGowan presented together at the 2006 Virginia Social Studies Educators Conference and the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation 2006 Heritage Lecture Series. Heuvel's 2005 Master's thesis, "Early Attempts of Mineral Exploration in the New World: The Jamestown Colony," is being published this April as the 2007 commemorative publication of the Virginia Division of Mineral Resources. Heuvel currently works in Educational Media for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation.
