The only thing typical about W&M students is, well, you'll see.
When a group of William & Mary students get together, incredible things happen. There’s an energy here that inspires and motivates, whether that means doing original scientific research as a sophomore, organizing a medical outreach trip to Central America or reaching for new heights on the indoor climbing wall.
There’s something exhilarating about being surrounded by so many smart, fun people. Why do you think we have nearly 400 student clubs and organizations? Everyone wants to join in. Everyone has ideas. Everybody wants to squeeze one more activity in between physics lab, a cappella practice and open mic night at Lodge One.
There’s no such thing as a typical W&M student. The girl who aced the SATs gets together with her friends every Wednesday at midnight to “rance” down DoG Street (a gloriously silly mix of running and dancing). The guy who prides himself on having completed the three secret Triathlon tasks - more than once - just won a Fulbright to study potato botany in Peru.
We’re proud to be part of a lively, engaged, diverse community of students, professors, administration and staff who believe that there’s no better place in the world than William & Mary.
