Each year, the Undergraduate Admission Office hosts a number of special events to help students and their families explore the college community in creative ways and with more depth than our traditional campus visit allows. Fall Events for Prospective Students & Family Members
Fall Focus Days - Finding the college that fits you best is a tough process. Visiting the campuses you are considering is the very best way to explore your options. Come peek into the life of a W&M student and get to know the personality of our campus. Fall Focus Day events are designed to introduce you to many elements of the W&M experience. Hear from faculty, students and community members about the many reasons they feel the College is a unique environment in which to learn, play and grow. Each event will showcase the creative talents of our students by including performances from some of our most well known student organizations. Come see what the buzz is all about!
Prospective Transfer Days - Interested in transferring to William & Mary? These afternoon programs are designed specifically for you. Take a tour, tease out the transfer admission process, and talk to current students and faculty about the College and the transfer experience. These events are held on Friday afternoons three times per semester and are open to all prospective transfer students.
In Your Backyard - is a multicultural program for students from Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina and Washington, DC. We invite you to spend a fun-filled day at William & Mary getting to know the university that's right in your backyard! Prospective students will have an opportunity to meet current students, faculty and staff, tour the campus, and ask questions about the college admission process. Lunch will be provided. We look forward to seeing you!
Autumn Blast - Autumn Blast is a prospective student event celebrating multiculturalism. During this exciting weekend, high school juniors and seniors get the chance to learn about the College and its vibrant multicultural community. This experience begins on Saturday with presentations from faculty, students and information about the application process. The day continues into the evening where students attend events and activities akin to a typical Saturday night at the College. Autumn Blast provides an amazing opportunity for students to see and experience W&M.
Spring Events for Admitted Students & Family Members
Day for Admitted Students - Admitted students and their families are invited to attend our annual campus wide celebration of our newly admitted class! Attend topical information sessions, take part in our admitted student tour, meet with faculty in departmental chats and presentations, participate in a campus-wide activity fair, and get to know the Tribe. If you haven't yet decided that your college colors should be green and gold, this event will help you find answers to your lingering questions. The W&M community looks forward to getting to know you and hopes you'll join us for this fun and informative day.
myWM Mondays - Can't make it to our Day for Admitted Students? We understand, calendars fill up quickly. Our myWM can be yourWM events are designed to offer week day options to those admitted students and their families who desire to make a trip to Williamsburg in April but are not able to attend our marquis celebration. Ask questions of a student/faculty panel eat lunch in a campus dining facility and take part in our admitted student campus tour. We look forward to meeting you in person and serving as a resource as you make your final college choice.
Escape - Escape is an event for admitted multicultural students. Planned in tandem with our Day for Admitted Students, participants and their families have the opportunity to see performances by various multicultural groups and interact with current W&M students and campus community members. It's a great way to get to know the texture of the College's multicultural community.
Monroe Scholar Campus Visit Program - Admitted James Monroe Scholars and their families are invited to extend their visit to Williamsburg at the conclusion of our Day for Admitted Students. This event offers an introduction to the unique opportunities provided to those who are a part of this esteemed honors program. Hear from current Monroe Scholars regarding their research pursuits, take part in mock seminar discussions designed to replicate W&M's in-class experience and meet some of your future classmates! Evening entertainment will take place (for parents and for students) and we encourage families to plan an overnight stay in the immediate area. We look forward to meeting you in person!
Admitted Transfer Open House - Admitted transfer students are invited to explore campus and get to know what it means to be a member of the tribe! We've created this event to cater to the unique needs of transfer students and hope you find it an exciting and informative day.
