For Transfers

It's not just how you start, it's how you finish.

William & Mary is a story over three centuries in the making and transfer students are an important part of that story. The experiences that transfer students bring from their previous colleges add a unique flair to the pages of William & Mary’s history. We hope you take a chance to share your story; we look forward to reading it and to adding tales of transfers to William & Mary’s next chapter.

A transfer student is anyone who wishes to enroll in an undergraduate degree program at William & Mary and has attended another college or university after graduation from high school. Transfer students are admitted for both the fall and the spring semesters. In order to enroll at the university, transfer applicants must be in good standing and eligible to return to their last institution of full-time attendance. Students who have completed less than a full year of college coursework at the time of application may submit SAT or ACT scores, for consideration as an optional part of the application.
